If you have taken the time and invested the money then you should be allowed to use them as you want, within reason. Here is a simple suggestion that could solve a lot of these problems. CCP is always looking for ways to increase revenues.
A lot of people we know have left Eve because of the difficulty in keeping things fresh. A lot of us have scrappy characters with unfocused skill sets. ONCE EVERY TWO YEARS YOU CAN PAY TO RESET YOUR SKILL POINTS AND REALLOCATE THEM A lot of us have been playing Eve for a long time.
